How to get started with Accounting for Good CIC
Step 1: Join our free weekly introduction session
(Recommended first step for new starts-up and early stage organisations)
Our free weekly online session is designed for people who are:
exploring setting up a CIC or charity, or
running a newer CIC or charity and want a clear overview before booking a 1:1
We cover the core foundations that often take up time in first meetings, including:
CIC and charity structures and responsibilities
directors’ roles and pay
bookkeeping, records, and accounting software
Corporation tax and profit calculations
VAT thresholds and common compliance issues
how our services work and what support looks like
Starting here means that when you move on to a 1:1 meeting, we can focus on your organisation and your specific circumstances, rather than revisiting general background and compliance.
The session is low-pressure and accessible:
no requirement to speak
cameras can remain off
you’re welcome to listen only
Sessions are free and run weekly on Zoom.
Step 2: Book a 1:1 meeting
(For established organisations or once the basics are covered)
If you’re already running a CIC or charity and feel confident with the basics — or if you’ve attended the weekly introduction session — you can book a 1:1 meeting with us.
These meetings focus on:
your organisation’s structure, funding, and plans
specific compliance or reporting questions
next steps and whether we’re the right fit to work together
Because the foundations are already in place, the 1:1 time can be used efficiently and effectively.
In most cases, early-stage organisations are asked to attend the free weekly session first. If you’re an established CIC or charity and already familiar with the basics, you’re welcome to book a 1:1 directly.
Existing clients should continue to use the booking links already provided to them.
